HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

Becky~

You are gorgeous, by the way- and I know you had very little choice in the genetics chosen for you, but I firmly believe every woman likes to hear that she is pretty once in a while, and you are simply beautiful.

I have heard so much of the fine example you have been in your family and seen first hand the great love you have for your husband and children. I am so impressed by that… I hope this is an amazing year and that things go where you want them to and that during this year of your life you would increase your knowledge of the Gospel and that your faith and love would grow.

Lots of love~

Crystal

PS- your name rhymes!

Happy Birthday Becca!!!
I just found out how to get on the blog and Colin I didn't forget your birthday on the 8th, I just didn't know how to get on the blog.
Becca, you are such a sweet mother and I am so proud of you. Anyone would be proud to have you as a grandmother and I am.
It was wonderful seeing all of you in Mexico. I want to thank Leslie and Alex for sharing their second wedding night with us. I remember Grandpa's and mine as being a little different, but viva la difference.
We love you,
Grandma and Grandpa

Peace Becky Jo!!! Peace peace Becky Jo! Peace Becky Jo. I love you so much Becky. I hope your birthday is great and you enjoy your van. Yippee! I wish we could live around the corner still. That was my most favorite place to live, probably ever I think. Even though it was only 750 sq feet, it was worth it to play Taboo and watch Funniest Home Videos with you guys. Love you much!

Becky!

So glad I got to see you and your family so close to your birthday. I don't get many opportunities to hang out with you anymore, so I really valued that time in Mexico...and our l-o-n-g drive back to San Antonio. I love seeing what an amazing person you have become, and seeing the fruits of all the good choices you've made in your life. You really are a solid example to me of what I hope to one day become.

Hope to see you at Thanksgiving!

Love you!

Abby

Beck,
I hope you had a great day. I'm so glad Lori and I got to spend some time with you and Ray before we all spread out. But of course it is so much fun when we all get together. I hope you got a nice relaxing birthday today. We hope you can come visit for Thanksgiving. We're going to tile our entire house over the weekend, so it sounds like it will be really promising.
We love you,
Colin

Becky Jo,
Before I say anything to you, I have to ask Colin a question about his comment: Colin, didn't you learn your lesson when you and I tiled the kitchen? And if not then, didn't you learn your lesson when we all tiled Becky's house? Well, if you're a slave to labor, then bless you my son. I'm just glad you didn't decide to wait until Thanksgiving to tile the house.

Now to Becky,
There was a time you stressed me out of my mind, and then there was a time you made me the happiest, proudest father on earth. It's crazy how kids can do that. I suspect there will be a time when you also will experience those paradoxical emotions, hopefully in that order. Maybe with Grace? Elliot? No, not Elliot. Maggie? Who knows? That's what makes life interesting - watching it unfold -as long as it turns out well in the end, as it has with you. I am so proud of who you have become, but more than that, I hope you are reaping deep satisfaction from it. Some days it may not feel that way, but as long as it works out well in the end, that is what counts. And as long as you keep trying and praying, that is how it will be.
Have a happy birthday and a great year,
Dad
