A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

Signs of the Second Coming

Hi Everyone,

I was visiting in Dana's ward and heard a great lesson on the second coming. It was based on a talk by Dallin H. Oaks. Don't know the reference. You are all so technologically savvy, you could find it before I could get it linked on here.

I have two questions for all of you. I was at another lesson, I think this same lesson (#43) and a lady said that the 'moon will turn to blood' prophesy had already been fulfilled. She said it was in the October conference following 9-11. Could you guys look for that? I will look, too.

Second question. This scripture is about the New Jerusalem (D & C 45: 67-69)
"And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion.

And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety.

And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another."

Do you think this means that we will all be gathered to the New Jerusalem? It seems that way to me, at least if we won't be willing to fight our neighbors, but does it maybe just mean be gathered into our own stakes? I don't know if that would provide enough safety. Will we just be one big huge metropolis of Zionites? Sounds pretty exciting to me, however it ends up.

I really am interested in your opinions. Oh, I also read a really great article by Neal Maxwell, his last. It wasn't even finished when he died, but it must have been pretty close to complete. It is in the New Era. I went to Topical Guide at lds.org, under 'Second Coming' and there are several articles listed there at the bottom of the virtual page. I think the article by Elder Oaks is there too. Happy reading. I love you all.

We had this lesson last week. I think of all things Biblical- or Christian- as a 20's woman, I was most fascinated by the book of Revelations. I read it every Sunday for years (during boring sermons). I have heard nothing of the "moon of blood" in 2001. In fact, I found great comfort, when I joined the church, that I found a talk by Gordon Hinckley saying the second coming was NOT happening the and he was the prophet, so... I am not so sure the "moon of blood" happened in 2011.

In fact, I think it would be a little more well-known. Of course, with most things Revelations-based, it is really, really hard to understand what is metaphor and what is literal. Still though, those times will not be fun.

So- in our lesson, it was taught that the "New Jerusalem" would be in Missouri. That seems really odd to me- why call it the New Jerusalem? I guess, in terms of the REALLY BIG SIGN of building a Temple, that seems more likely, but I had not heard that- And that the Garden of Eden and the sword that burns is there?! Who knew! Not me and I lived 14 years there. Insanity!

I do think that "we" followers will segregate into big or small groups as we are killed for rejecting the mark of the beast that will be required to get food, drink, gas, etc. That whole time just before Christ returns is not going to be fun. I will say, that the inclusion of the Euro currency, and the talk there was of a world-wide currency a couple years back gave me the heebie-jeebies, as that is in prophecy too. I think, though, that PayPal is the world-wide currency.

Anyway, I am really well-read on the more traditional scriptures on this topic, and find the LDS-only take very, very fascinating. I would love to know more, as the LDS take on things is VERY different. One thing is for sure though, we have the whole rapture thing (in that there will be no rapture) down, so to me, I know there is truth in what we know about the end times for sure. I do wish we knew more though...

Crystal, I meant the Oct. 2011 gen. Conference, after the events of 9-11. Also the ' will be turned to blood' prophesy is in Acts 2:20, and in Joel 2:31, as well as the D & C. Thanks for your comment. I think the whole topic is fascinating.

Hmm, no idea- unless it refers to a lunar eclipse? I thought the other thing that those scriptures referred to was a darkened sun and no stars. Again, this could be metaphor or literal. I always thought- from my crazy evangelical bringin' up- that these were literal things. If they are metaphorical, I really have no idea. What about Oct 2011 conference? I definitely watched the entire conference and do not remember an end-times talk, but like I said, this is one thing I find extremely interesting. I never thought I would graduate high school growing up (again, evangelicals), so the topic has always really interested me. I read a series that was very popular called "Left Behind" that I really enjoyed- although it is entirely inaccurate.

So, this is crazy- the talk I linked to was given by Pres. Hinckley at that conference (right after 9/11/2001), so it is weird how I saw it as saying that the end times are NOT right now, and others say that it points toward them being here. How crazy-cool. I ALSO posted that it was given in 2011, but I found it in 2004- it was given after 9/11.

I was talking about this today and a woman said that she had heard before the second coming there would be no rainbows. I have never, EVER heard that before, but I DID see one yesterday, so if that is a sign, we are good ;-)
