HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

i just erased my first blog. do not navigate away from the page when you are looking at the photos. the kitchen is almost done, and while we had the guy here working (rusty jackman), we decided to get a few things done in the pretty in pink bathroom. get your last look at the pink formica. any ideas on paint color? i would love green, but i already have three green rooms. i am thinking blue, dad is thinking not blue. anyway, we are excited. the tile is a bit dark upstairs, but it is really pretty. i am thinking of a light countertop. anyway, i hope you are all well, especially my darling grandchildren. xoxo mom/debby

WOW! I was trying soooo hard to figure out who's kitchen the first picture was. I LOVE the tile backsplash in the kitchen. Good bye pink bathroom. I love the tile in there also. I am trying to get Colin to start painting the basement next week. He has some time off. He really wants to sheet rock but can you imagine pulling down the wood paneling. We would then have to pay to have waterproofing done and we just had to have the springs on the garage replaced today! Ahhh, we love having our garage again!!! I want a bright cheery color not white and not yellow, I like yellow but a bit typical. Any ideas? I am thinking the color Navajo white, warm but not bright white. Any other ideas?

How about the color your kitchen used to be? Actually, I may be the only person, but I LIKED that color. I think yellow is a great choice! I have no idea about navajo white, but I bet that it is a good choice too! I say yellow though! I am with you on the garage. Our door opener broke over a year ago. We still have not fixed it.

Colin and Lori, we just had our garage door springs replaced last month. too wierd.
I think the pink bathroom had been crying for help for a long time, I'm glad it finally got its makeover. It will look great. I love the backsplash as well, but I'm still out to lunch on the whole glass tile thing, I wonder if it will be one of those things that fades in and out of style quickly. But for now, I think it is great.
I would love to see it in person someday. Maybe even dig a whole or two in the backyard.

I vote for a butter cream yellow (light) type color...if it goes with the tile. It looks so good! I can't believe all of the changes you've made! I love it!

I'm saving all the holes for you.

It makes me so happy that everyone is excited about this bathroom. It has been so patiently waiting its turn. Unless you count the shower handle. That wasn't being so patient.

Maybe some lighter shade of brown/yellow? How you say...light tan? :o) Or Crystal's idea of burnt amber could also look great.

And Lori, my bedroom has been a much cheerier place ever since I painted it sky blue. How would that look down there?
