HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

Lilia Kate

This is how they did her hair after her first bath...just to show you how much hair she has!! I can't believe it. Just about to go home from the hospital. I forget how TINY they look in their car seats.
Here are some pictures. Colby and Eva love their new little sister so much, it's so sweet...I love watching them love her. She is such a good baby so far. She hardly ever cries and she loves her binky. Our first night home wasn't as easy as the first night at the hospital. She doesn't seem to want to sleep in her bassinet, but sleeps fine if she's laying by her mommy or daddy. We're trying to get her used to her own bed, but she just loves to cuddle so much. :) Wish you could all have a chance to cuddle with her right now...Becky's right, these first few days are the best.

Sooo cute!! Valerie had a lot of hair like that too (without the curls) and it was oh-so-fun! Everyone loved it! I always thought it made her not look like a newborn. She never looked like a baby. She has the cutest chubby cheeks too! She looks like a new eskimo baby with all these sweet feature. Too precious!! It makes me feel so excited!

Dana and Jason, she is beautiful!! I love all that hair. How's it being a mom of 3? I am getting nervous. Can't wait to hold her in 15 days!!! I was just looking at Eva's announcement and Lilia's face is so round compared to Eva's when she was born but you cant certainly tell they are related. You have such cute babies. Way to go!

I wish I was there to hold her!! She is so precious. Dana, you should be a very proud mommy! Is her skin even darker than Colby's an Eva's? I can't wait to see all of you.

Seriously, she is so adorable! I keep looking through the pictures. Her eyes are almond-shaped- does anyone else have those eyes? She looks so exotic and absolutely gorgeous! Watch out Jason...

Yeah! A few days ago I realized the almond-shaped eyes are what make her look different than Colby and Eva. They both have big round eyes. I have no idea who she gets them from! I'll have to start paying attention to all relatives.
She had an appointment yesterday and had lost 14 ounces. (When we left the hospital she was the same as her birth weight.) So, the doctor had me start giving her a bottle after every feeding, something I'm by no means against. So, today she was up 3.5 ounces! She is so happy and I swear she hasn't cried all day, except when she was getting her clothes changed. She even had a bath and didn't cry at all. She slept (for the first time!) peacefully in her bassinet last night! She usually starts crying within 15 minutes of laying her in the bassinet. She likes to sleep by her mommy or daddy. It was such a relief. Anyway...she's doing great!

Awesome! She is so cute! Seriously, Dana. I think that (well besides Valerie) she is the most-gorgeous baby I have ever seen and I mean that.
