HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

Easter/Update

I have been really bad about taking pictures of Lilia. After those first pictures I only took two pictures of her until yesterday. Colby and Eva still love her so much she can't get a decent nap. (As I'm writing this they won't leave her alone in her swing!) She has really fair skin. In those first pictures of her I posted she was a little jaundice, so it made her skin look darker. She might be lighter than Colby, and her hair is lighter than both Colby and Eva's. I'm still suffering from sleep deprivation, but not much I can do about that. At her two week appointment she was back to her birth weight plus some! 7 lbs 13 oz and 21 1/2 inches. They measured her 19 1/2 at the hospital, which I just figured had to be off...because there's no way she's grown 2 inches in 2 weeks!
On Saturday we went on an Easter egg hunt at Ross Park. There were so many people Colby and Eva only got 2 eggs each, but they had a good time and got to see the Easter Bunny. I accidently cut off his ears in the picture, I wasn't paying attention to that part. We had some delicious eggs benedict for lunch after church on Sunday. I meant to take pictures of the kids in their Easter clothes after church, because we somehow ran out of time before.......BUT Colby drooled some chocolate on his sweater and then I took off Lilia's dress before I thought to take a picture of her. The kids had a great time with their Easter baskets. I hope you all had a great Easter. Love you all!

Wow! What sweet angels. One question... in the first pictures, Lilia looked like she had curly hair, but all these look straight. Is her hair straight? It is so interesting how genetics work. She is really gorgeous!!

I can't believe how much Lilia has changed!! I know that happens, but it still surprises me every time. She is so adorable, as are all of your gorgeous children! I also didn't get pics of my kids in their Easter clothes-no time before church and I forgot after church. Maybe next week I will dress them in their Easter clothes again and take pictures!! I'm sad about how old your kids are, we miss you guys so much, too!!

I think the picture of Eva with the chips is my favorite of her, ever! It just captured her so perfectly - the facial expression, everything!

I gotta tell you, everyone - they're even cuter in real life. :o)

I think she'll have curly hair. Colby's didn't go curly until right before he turned 1 and Eva's didn't go curly until she was 15 or 16 months old, I thought it was just wavy. Lilia's will definitely be wavy, maybe curly. It gets curls when she's sweaty.
Abby, I love the picture of Eva too! That's why I included it. Even if it makes me look bad for letting her eat a bag of chips.

Personally, I like the photo of Colby with all the cars lined up in a row. Is he a boy or what?
Also, it kind of reminds me of something Elliot would do, except that he would have them arranged by colors.
