HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

I don't think that they should have done the Beetles again. No one did a very good job. I thought that Carly was the best. I never really understand what Simon means when he says that someone is being "self-indulgent". Anyway, I thought that he was way off on Carly. I didn't think that Brooke did very well, she is NOT a good dancer!! David A did good, much better than last week. I read something on the internet about how his dad is this horrible "stage dad", kindof sad for sweet David! Anyway, I think that either Kristi Lee Cook, Ramielle, or Amanda will go tonight!

I totally agree Becky! They shouldn't have done that. Or maybe they should have done it some other week, spaced it out a little. Anyway, I LOVED David A's performance!! I was glued to the TV the entire time he was singing. It's so funny to watch him and how he is so embarrassed by all the girls yelling for him. He's so sweet, I hope that isn't true about his dad. The only other 2 I liked were Carly and Syesha, but I didn't love Syesha's as much as the judges. I wish her boobs weren't hanging out!
I think the bottom 3 will be Kristy for sure, then between Chikeize, Amanda, and Ramielle. Funny how much we think alike.

I havent watched it yet, but grumbled when they mentioned last week it would be Beatles again (I really am not a Beatles fan in any way)... I have been laying on the bathroom floor praying to stop vomiting for the past few days. I have not been able to really watch anything, but maybe tonight?

Anyway, I heard about David A's dad last week, but kept quiet with the "negativity" and stuff... Here is the story...

And now we know — he has a crazy overbearing stage dad! Allegedly! Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Archuleta's less-than-perfect performance of "We Can Work It Out" on Tuesday's episode may have been the result of an argument with his father on Monday. Purportedly unimpressed with the sub-par quality of his son's singing, Jeff Archuleta "yelled at David during a recording session … and even brought him to tears."

According to blog L.A. Rag Mag, this isn't the first time Jeff's lost his temper. Citing a "reliable source," they say he harassed several other contestants when David was competing on Star Search in 2003, and was eventually banned from the set after making intimidating phone calls to some poor 12-year-old girl (she eventually beat David on the show).

Kind of whacked out voting week! I was sooo shocked that Carly was in the bottom 3!! I figured she had a huge following. I didn't care for Amanda so I'm not too disappointed, but she deserved to stay longer than Kristy, that's for sure!

Valerie and I watched the vote off show and now she is going to watch the singing, but I can't stare at the TV anymore. It makes my head hurt, which makes me vomit (of course)...
It is allergy season and I can't take my medications, so. Yeah.

I got teary to see Amanda go. I loved her! Not her voice so much, but her, for sure.

I need to make sure to vote for carly next week, there is no way she should end up in the bottom 3.

Ramielle has a huge philapeno vote- the same with Jasmine (I think?) a few years ago.

Brooke is like me- extra copies of the "white-girl-cant-dance" gene. That is exactly why I dont even pretend to try. Valerie had the most-interesting comment about her "hey! she wears bootie garments" um... or none...
funny.

So, since I'm stuck being lazy for the next couple weeks, I buckled down and did something I never thought I would ever, ever do: I watched the last full episode since mom had it on tivo. (Sneaky, mom.) And I can see exactly why each person has made it this far - if not for their talent, then for their personality/individuality/drama. I'm a little sad Amanda got kicked off. She's such a rock star. Added tons of personality, but not the kind that AI seems to cater to or appreciate. It makes me more sad because I really enjoyed David Cook's performance, and thought more than once, "I would totally go to one of his concerts...unlike most of these other singers." Sure, they're talented, but not the kind I'd ever pay to see live. But just like Amanda, he doesn't fit the classic style of the show, which probably means he won't make it to the top, either. I think the dude with the dreds needs to go. He just doesn't impress me.
