HISTORY

A Little History:
Our story begins in Pocatello, Idaho, circa 1972, when the lovely Debby Christensen agreed to a first, though fateful date with admirer, David Croshaw. Long story-short, he bade her follow him, and they went arm-in-arm to the Logan, Utah temple for establishment of an eternal family unit, Generation 1, on May 23 1973.

From their first blissful summer in Salt Lake City, educational pursuits took them to Provo/Orem, Utah, birthplace of Leslie and Rebecca, and to San Francisco/Oakland California, birthplace of Colin and Matt. Then, for establishment of livelihood, expansion of the tribe with Abby and Dana, and for raising/unifying of Generation 2, it was back to the roots in Pocatello for a rewarding sojourn.

In time, driven by a raging, but commonly shared sense of adventure and independence, one-by-one, Generation 2 escaped the homeland to distant regions of the country and the world, each ultimately developing their own tribal expansions by pairing with worthy mates and initiating Generation 3.

Now sensing fulfillment of their purpose in Pocatello, Generation 1 has also left those roots and transplanted to Cascade Idaho, from which base, they anticipate more abundant contact with The Posterity, Generations 2 and 3, in the future. That contact however, awaits fulfillment of a call to LDS missionary service in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wherein they hope to help the state of the world by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

So now, including Generation 0 (Grandma and Grandpa Christensen) home base includes Yuma, Arizona, Pocatello, Idaho, Cascade, Idaho, Vancouver, BC, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Spokane, Washington, Boise, Idaho, Los Angeles, California, back to Boise, Idaho, and on and on (Generation 3+) to infinity.

Our Mission Statement:
This is the blog of our eternal family unit. Initiated years ago, it served well as a journal, but even more so, as an archive of our personal interaction. It was a gathering place, a confabulation instrument, a unifying force for four generations of widely dispersed and progressively prolific posterity, and their valued associates. Though it served these purposes well for many years, it eventually took a back seat to new-kids-on-the-block, Facebook, and Instagram, and was sadly forgotten.

We now move to resurrect this blog with an added functional purpose of archiving the missionary experiences of Generation 1, of their movements and activities as they participate with The Gathering of Israel in the land northward. In so doing, we hope that via their own comments and posts, this blog will again serve to gather and unify the posterity and their friends.

As in the past, that the young and vibrant may know the old and tired, that enduring bonds may be fostered and maintained, that experience and encouragement may be openly shared, that posterity may embrace truth, and that hearts may be knit together, we must resist detachment despite our geographic divergence. We shall do so here.

You will LAUGH REPEATEDLY!

Please, do yourself some good and take a look at this page of a website. I am in LOVE with the free BMW.

In my parts, craigslist is not that hilarious, but the prices people ask for icky stuff is staggering. Here is a sampling of today's harrisonburg.craigslist...

$200 for that thing- clearly in a basement for over a decade...

same as picture just a beautiful sage green color.has a "tiny" tear on the backside that can easily be repaired, other than that it's in great condition

Price $350... uh no

So... we are STILL looking for a sofa. In fact- mine looked JUST like the one above, 6 years ago...
maybe I could sell it for $350

$100 (REDUCED)

Then there was the $40 baby leash/plush backpack to make it look less leash like...

PS- this is not looking like the torture I thought of them prior to this weekend after chasing around the mobile Asher. Sheeeeesh. Can we just leave the cat food/lamp/magazines/keyboard/mouse/router... ALONE?

Our Craigslist cracks me up... dont get me started on the requests for "NEED" for "FREE"

:-D

I think I bought the backpack/leash that is a dog for aobut $15 maybe $20. It has been a lifesaver at times, a few years ago. He wouldn't wear it now. My friend borrowed it for her little boy on their trip to W. Washington. She told me today it was a total life saver. I used to think the same thing. What parent would use this? Now I know. ME!

As for those couches, YIKES!!!!

My biggest problem is chasing him around, then having to bend forward to pick him up, move him and repeat every 5 minutes... or like yesterday, every 32 seconds. It is pretty exhausting. On top of that, he has one major cold, so there is runny nose to go with all that too.
He is pretty cute, but he gets into everything repeatedly. He really really really loves cat food and if we had a 20 foot long gate, it would not be such an issue, which is where the baby leash idea struck... silly boys ;-)

I saw this exact leash the other day and thought hmmm.. that's pretty cool. I wonder what they stash inside the monkey pack...

Maybe you could find better furniture diversity in the DC area and then rent/borrow a truck to take it back. You might end up paying as much or less and getting something better. At least there'll be more choices.

Hahahaha, HILARIOUS! There are some real doozies on craigslist. I think some people don't think things all the way through sometimes. I think that backpack/leash is $10 at Walmart.

Did you all know I have boycotted Wal Mart about 5 years ago? It has made me a better person, I do believe. I never had a good Wal Mart experience... and I have yet to see a 61 year old man who would slap the 2 year old child of another customer for crying at Target . I am just saying... there is a clientele issue at Wal Mart (and Dollar General, Big Lots...) that keeps me far, far away.
