Be on the look-out!
Guess what got delivered today?!
WORK gadgets! I got some money for extra equiptment and after buying the things I did not have the physical time to sit down and price 2 weeks ago with the money still in my budget... but I had to use it 2 weeks ago, I sent an email around asking for "wish list" equiptment. A camera was suggested for mid-terms, final exam and for the students to use one particular week of class... Everyone agreed to this idea and so, I ordered this baby. I will be learning to use it (and hoping to take a photoshop class). We are at the end of the semester, so I hope to learn to use it will before the fall. Then, it will be used 2-4 weeks each semester and I will get better and better at photography. It is a wonderful blessing to me, the other professors, the students... It is just fantastic. The camera is breath-taking. I have my own D5000 and this camera has an amazingly-fast shutter speed that takes fantastic images. I also got a macro lens that makes a pretty amazing portrait.
Have I mentioned lately, I love my job.
So much.
I would like to take a photoshop class for sharpening and intensifying eyes, but I am not a huge fan of photos clearly over-edited. However, I tend to overdo things, so we shall see.
Anyway, it was such a really neat thing that I wanted to share.

I am sure an amazing post by her adoring husband will come sometime after 5 pm, but I have a little time to share what I did in honor of the birthday girl today.
Debby was visiting once and someone had called and asked about Abby and Debby said "You know, Abby grows where she is planted..."
What an awesome thing for a mom to say about her daughter. I have never forgot about it and thought that "putting that out there" for all the premed, pre-vet, pre... biology students to see today would be a great honor to such a lively, fun girl.

Lake Powell?
Is this still happening?
Valerie was asking about it yesterday, and I have been so crazy with work, I had not even thought about it. I am teaching a summer class (more $$) and am advising new freshman (great satisfaction... and more $$$)- but I am DONE from July 15- August 25. Also, I am just gonna put it out there, Asher is a really active boy, so if this happens, prepare yourself! He is lotsa fun that way ;-)
I am up for holding all babies, maybe even two at a time.
