Obama Chia - Yes We Can!

So, Dana and Jason gave me a unique gift for Christmas - a Ch-Ch-Chia in the form of our beloved president, Barack Obama.  I think it was a gag gift (you know Jason), but I took it seriously, planting, watering, photographing the progress, and generally fussing over the patch.  I know Christmas was 2 months ago, but the growth was slow, sorta like the economy.  Finally, I have firm evidence of my farming capabilities:

At one month  This is about as good as it got.  He wouldn't grow on top for some reason - male pattern alopecia (baldness), or if you prefer, Larry of the 3 Stooges.

Favorites

On my way home from Cleveland, I had a pretty long layover in the Minneapolis airport.  Someone sitting beside me one time recommended this cafe.  It is located by concourse D.  Great food, organic kind of stuff, muffins, cookies, and meals.  I had a hash brown breakfast there that was great.  Anyway, it's one of my favorite airport restaurants.

Heart and Souls--just watched it the other day.  One of my favorite movies.
